At the Poet's Corner roundabout on the A4 take the Wellsway out of Bath(A367) and after the big bend at Bear Flat (opposite the Bear pub) turn left into Shakespeare Avenue. Proceed to the top of the hill (careful of the junction halfway up the hill) and turn right in front of the entrance to Alexander Park. The entrance to Beechen Clifff School is in front of you. Come in the main entrance of the school, students will have registration in the main hall. |

Drama - Tristan Carter
After spending many years working in the world of banking and treading the boards at the Bristol Hippodrome and
The Theatre Royal Bath with local amateur companies, Tristan completed a diploma at The Guildford School of Acting and became
a professional actor and a teacher of drama. Over the years he has performed at many West End Venues including The London Palladium,
The Theatre Royal Drury Lane, The Savoy Theatre and The Royal Albert Hall. He toured the country with Shakespeare4Kidz and
understudied Jason Connery in the 2003 tour of The Blue Room with Tracey Shaw. He has also performed all over the country in
many other theatre productions, concerts and galas. Alongside his acting career Tristan taught drama for five years at various
private theatre schools and secondary schools before becoming the co-founder of Curtain Up. He is currently studying for a degree
in performing arts and a teaching certificate with the London Academy of Music and Drama.

Dance - April Rose
April began trained in Musical Theatre at Performers College in Essex where she graduated with her I.S.T.D Modern Dance Teacher's Associate qualification, Gold Medal in Acting (LAMDA), Grade 8 Singing (ABRSM) as well as being the recipient of the Student of The Year Award and the Musical Theatre Singing Cup. Her varied career to date has seen her working as a Lead Production Singer & Dancer at both Terra Jardin Theatre, Finestrat, Spain and 2 Summer Seasons onboard Sun Cruises Seawing for Airtours, travelling around the Mediterranean & Eastern European Countries. She can be seen regularly in our own Theatre Royal Bath, National or West End Theatres and still finds time to sing with the Bath based Vocalworks Gospel Choir & Stockingtops.

Singing - Liz Hunt
As well as working with us at Curtain Up, Liz Hunt teaches piano and voice from her home in central Bath. An accomplished pianist, Liz studied music and performing arts in her native South Wales, before moving to Bath to study piano and voice at Bath Spa University. A regular participant at concerts and reviews in and around Bath, and she sings with several highly regarded choral, opera, and musical societies. Liz recently played a role in Bath Opera’s production of La Vie Parisienne at St Michael’s church in central Bath. |
The Principal - Sarah Carter
Sarah co-founded Curtain Up in January 2004, She originally trained at bath University as a pharmacist graduating with a 1st Class Honours degree, and later spent many years as Deputy Chief Pharmacist at a private hospital in Guildford, specialising in oncology. Her career as a pharmacist involved training and teaching fellow colleagues, junior staff and doctors in hospitals and teaching pharmacy students at Bath University, the principles of which can all be applied to organising and running a theatre school! Over the last year, Sarah, alongside Tristan, has successfully created Curtain Up drama schools in Bath, Chew Magna, Melksham and Radstock and ensured over 65 students passed their Trinity examinations with exceptional results. |
